Meet Mitali Pakvasa, MD
from Central Ohio Newborn Medicine
Dr. Mitali Pakvasa spent her early career in Atlanta as an attending neonatologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine. Joining the Central Ohio Newborn Medicine team brings Dr. Pakvasa back to her home state of Ohio, where she attended both undergraduate and medical school and her family still resides.

During her residency at the University of Louisville, Dr. Pakvasa earned a number of awards including the Pediatric NICU Resident of the Year, and the University of Louisville Department of Pediatrics Viewer’s Choice Award for a Pediatric Poster Presentation.
While at the Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Pakvasa was responsible for the supervision and teaching of neonatal fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students. As a researcher, Dr. Pakvasa’s work focused on the prevention of bleeding and transfusion practices in infants with neonatal brain injury. As a medical resident, Dr. Pakvasa taught graduate courses at the University of Louisville covering a variety of pediatric case topics.
When she’s not working, you’ll find Dr. Pakvasa enjoying the outdoors, binging a good Netflix show, and spending time with her husband and daughter, Zoyah. She’s also an avid reader and loves to travel. They hope to add a dog to their home soon!
