Christina Stine, MD, MS, RD
Dr. Stine joined the Central Ohio Newborn Medicine team in 2019 as a neonatologist with a passion for nutrition-dietetics and improving care through educational simulation. She comes to Columbus after spending the past several decades in Texas, attending medical school at UT Southwestern Medical School before completing her residency and perinatal-neonatal fellowship at UT Southwestern Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Stine graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Science/Nutritional Studies. After several years working as a dietitian, Dr. Stine wanted to do more for patients beyond diet and chose to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Stine specializes in neonatology because of the mix of intensive care procedures and day-to-day patient management, and particularly enjoys getting to know and interacting with families.
Dr. Stine has authored and presented scholarly work on topics including infant CPR, neonatal hypoglycemia and breastfeeding. She currently serves as a neonatal resuscitation program instructor mentor and is a member of the leadership team for NICU simulation at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
A favorite part of her practice is seeing the changes babies make on a daily basis and incorporating her dietetic background when useful. Another passion is taking staff through simulation scenarios, where she uses dolls to help train and improve care in specific simulated situations.
In her spare time, Dr. Stine enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, and three children, Catharine, Ella and John. She also loves to play with her puppy, Rocky.
