Meet Our Staff

A Tennessee native, Dr. Ashley Wethall has spent her undergraduate and graduate training making her way up the Midwest. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Centre College, then made her way to Lexington and Louisville for her medical school and pediatric residency training. During residency, Dr. Wethall fell in love with neonatology and pursued clinical research involving neonatal abstinence syndrome.

Dr. Wethall completed her neonatology fellowship here in Columbus at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. During her fellowship, she received grant funding to complete a clinical project regarding serum cortisol in extremely premature infants. The findings have been presented at the national level.

As a neonatologist, Dr. Wethall believes that her job is not only to provide great care for her patients, but to ensure that the families understand their infant’s management plan and are supported throughout the NICU journey. Her goal is to treat her patients and families as if they are her own.

When not in the hospital, Dr. Wethall enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their 2 dogs.
